Thor knows what Quill is feelings. He knows because he's felt it as well. It was something he was always, always trying to keep at bay. He'd mostly managed it by keeping himself as preoccupied as best as he could, but there were occasionally moments where those thoughts threatened to pull him under. Tony and his brother sometimes managed to drag him up to the surface, whether they knew it or not. Thor wasn't entirely sure at this point if Quill had any such person in his life, let alone two.

Thor stretches across the bar and tousles Quill's hair affectionately. It's the same sort of annoying thing he did whenever he wanted to agitate his brother out of one of his brooding moments.

"You're going to beat Thanos with your plan," he says. "And then I'll help you find Gamora."

Lies rarely came easily to Thor; unlike his brother, he was a terrible liar. He always wore his heart on his sleeve. But Thor found these words were so easy to spit out that it even surprised him.
