"...and I really don't know where the whole rumor about Asgardians needing to eat golden apples to retain their youth thing came from," he says. "We age and die, just like anything or anyone else. It's like the whole God thing. Who came up with that?" A beat. "I mean, humans, I guess, but why gods? Why not aliens? Aliens -- that's at least accurate. "

Thor smiles over at Quill and leans contentedly over the bar. Chin set in one hand, he idly pours himself another glass with the other, then sets the bottle back down on the counter with an audible, dull glassy sound. He pushes it towards Quill.

"Had you met any Asgardians before you met me?"

"I don't know how anyone could be functional with a father like him, let alone a good influence on others," he says.

"Right?" Quill agreed. "Which basically makes Gamora a unicorn."

He smiled widely and fondly.

Thor lets them sit in silence for a moment while he finishes his drink.

"I know you have your Gamora back home, but would you ever consider seeing somebody here?"

Quill hummed out low and long while he thought about he. Would I?

"Good question." he said. "Maybe? Depends on how long I'm here, I guess."

He took a drink. He paused.

"You know what's funny?" he asked, "If you'd ask me like, a couple of months ago, even though I liked Gamora I would have for sure said yes."

Thor looks at Quill, brows furrowed.

"Why?"

What changed?

Quill shrugged.

"I don't know," He said. "Maybe I realized I had actual feelings? She started off as just some hot chick who could kick my ass, you know?"

Quill's lips were loose from the alcohol.

"I realized I liked Jane almost immediately," Thor says, thinking of his own lady-love. "I still love her, but it's over. I just wish I knew she were okay."

Thor drinks, but his lips aren't loose from the drinking; he's used to oversharing, much to the occasional surprise and discomfort of those around them. Lately, though, there were plenty of things he had been keeping close to the chest.

"Won't really matter when you get home, will it? Since you're going to reverse everything." He said.

Quill glanced to Thor.

Thor gives Quill a wearied smile.

"It will until I find him," Thor says. Thanos. "When he was aboard our ship, he didn't acknowledge me. Not even once. Almost every time he spoke it was to my brother."

"Use that to your advantage," he replied. "If he's underestimating you, let him. That's how you win. Trust me. People underestimate the Guardians pretty much all the time and we kick they ass."

"I will." Even with Stormbreaker lodged in his chest, Thanos didn't see him as a credible threat. Somehow, he doubts he ever will. But he agrees with Quill regardless.

"You don't talk much about them," Thor says. At least not lately. "Your guardians."

"Rocket doesn't remember half the stuff we did, so I try not to around him." He said. "The dude comes off as a hard-ass, but he really has a heart of gold, you know?"

Quill thought about it some more as he finished his drink.

"Plus, I guess.. knowing we all die..." he trailed off, looked to Thor, then shrugged.

"I know," he says. "I wish that he remembers me. And Nidavellir." Not anything after that, though.

"I miss Tree too, sometimes." He's positive that if Thor feels this way about two people he had only known for a handful of days, that Quill probably misses them all the more.

"Yeah... Groot is a good kid," he said. "I mean, he was once a full grown dude, but things happened - teenagers, man."

He thought of Rocket for a moment.

"He survived a lot for what happens to him in the end," Quill said quietly.

"Groot?" Thor asks quietly.

"That's his name," Quill explained. "But I'm sure tree isn't a bad nickname."

"He didn't object to it," Thor says, smiling lightly, "and he did not hesitate to voice his discontent at the earliest opportunity."

That he did.

"I've only met two other Flora colossi before him. They were both far more zen than he was."

"Yeaaahh," Quill said, drawing out the syllable. "Groot's not like anyone else, even his kind."

Probably has something to do with Rocket being a big influence, but...

"Kind of wish he was here," Quill said. "He'd like all the video games we had here to play."

"I'm sure he'd beat you in that fighting game," Thor says. "The Mortal Kombat." Thor's not sure what kind of game Groot was playing while they were traveling together, but he seemed obsessed. Obsessed people got things done.

He laughed.

"Oh, he'd love Mortal Kombat!" Quill agreed. "Probably be pretty competitive in Mario Kart too."

Thor lets out a hum.

"He'd definitely beat you in Mario Kart," he says. "You're terrible at it."

"Hey! I'm not bad at Mario Kart," Quill protested. "You have no idea what you're talking about. You're not even from Earth."

"But I've been on Earth more recently than you have." Thor does have that advantage over Quill.

Quill stared at him in silence for a moment.

"Okay, sure, but it's not like you spent that time playing video games, right?" He countered, as if it made total sense.

"No, but do you know what a Pee Ess Four is? Or an Ex Box One?" Thor had gleaned just enough video game knowledge from Jane's nieces and nephews to know those two consoles by name.
