Though Thor had been unable to coax Tony onto any high-speed rides, he had somehow managed to cajole the other man into an afternoon at the park. Who knew how long one or the other would have to enjoy themselves here? Soon enough, they might find themselves trapped back at the Inn with not much to explore but the inn itself and the surrounding area.

"I've seen one of these in a movie once," he says, gesturing towards the Funhouse as they approach it; his other hand clasps Tony's. "In a movie with a lot of singing."

Tony was hit with a sense of vertigo that knocked his sense of heaven and earth off balance, fingers twitching around Thor’s shoulder. “Somewhere quiet.” He clenched his eyes shut.

"Somewhere quiet" winds up being the Madonna Inn. After the attention they attracted, there was little chance they'd be able to find a quiet place inside the theme park once they landed.

Not that the theme park had been a very quiet place to begin with.

When they arrive through the portal, Thor sets Tony down and checks him over to be sure he's all right. Tony had been uncharacteristically quiet, so Thor can't help but be concerned that he sustained some sort of damage when they crashed through the roof or that their rapid escape had done a number on Tony's already-sensitive stomach.

"Are you all right?" he asks, once he ascertains that there are no visible physical injuries.

“Yeah, yeah, adrenaline crash aside.” He pushed his hands over his eyes and rubbed them vigorously. “Sorry.”

Thor looks down as he wipes the sweaty palms of his hands against his pants. "Why sorry?"

“For anything that came out of my mouth.” He knew Thor would immediately assure him it was in the past in multiple senses, but it still felt right to say.

"What?" Thor looks up, blinking. "You mean about --" Thor gestures vaguely in the direction of the portal. "-- back there?"

“Yep. Wasn’t I a peach?” Did he come with the string... Seriously? Tony wanted to crawl into a hole, shrivel up, and let the worms feed on his husk.

"Yes, well, you were kind of a jerk," Thor says. He's not going to deny that part. "But I can't say I was any better."

Thor shifts where he stands.

"Would you really have thought those things?"

“If I kept you around long enough to.” Tony was habitually careless with anyone and everyone, but he never made a point of leading someone on past the climax. “Yeah, that sounds bad. It is. To be honest I don’t know how I would have responded to getting courted by a Norse diety back then. All bets are off.”

Thor isn't quite sure what to think of Tony's explanation.

"Was it like that with everyone else?" he asks.

“You can imagine.” Then, Tony pictured it. Him speeding down a New Mexican State road in his Rolls Royce to meet Rhodey at the Vintage 423. Then him, crashing into a random blonde bodybuilder and assuming he got lost on his way to the nearest chippendale hot spot.

"Well," Thor says to fill the space, because for once, he's not sure what else to say. "Let's be glad you're not like that now."

Tony straightened up, even if there was a faint wobble to his posture. “I’ll make it up to you.”

Thor blinks.

"What is there to make up for?"

“Never let a date go unfinished. That’s one of my rules.” His tone was full of assuredness, but his voice was full of fatigue.

The exhaustion on Tony's face and in his voice doesn't go unnoticed.

"You don't think it'd be better to pick this up tomorrow?"

“Tomorrow...” Tony fell against Thor, his forehead embedding itself in his brawny shoulder.

Thor wraps his arms around him.

"You still not feeling well?" Thor can't help but be reminded of Tony's post-AI fatigue.

“I feel great.” Tony’s lips curled into a sneaky smirk, dropping his weight for effect.

"Are you now?" Thor's still not thoroughly convinced, but he says it lightly enough for it to come across as a joke.

And without even so much as a warning, Thor abruptly hoists Tony up into his arms. "Let's go take a nap."

"Viva la sieste!" Tony curled up in the bed of Thor's arms, tossing his head back with a grin of relief.
