"...and I really don't know where the whole rumor about Asgardians needing to eat golden apples to retain their youth thing came from," he says. "We age and die, just like anything or anyone else. It's like the whole God thing. Who came up with that?" A beat. "I mean, humans, I guess, but why gods? Why not aliens? Aliens -- that's at least accurate. "

Thor smiles over at Quill and leans contentedly over the bar. Chin set in one hand, he idly pours himself another glass with the other, then sets the bottle back down on the counter with an audible, dull glassy sound. He pushes it towards Quill.

"Had you met any Asgardians before you met me?"

"Frank Sinatra. It's a classic." He said. "Good song. Fits Stark too."

He nodded. He was impressed with Thor's first choice.

"Frank Sinatra," Thor says to himself, and then he repeats it a few times under his breath like a mantra. He pours himself another glass. "You know, Tony sang that for me once when I was visiting. Jane had been pretty ticked off at me and I crashed at Avengers Tower for a few days."

Thor shoots a finger at Quill. "When everything's done and over with, you and the Guardians should stop by for a couple of days. We can all go ice skating at Rockefeller Center or something."

"I would literally pay to see Rocket on ice, so, you're on." He said with a laugh. "Actually, most of them."

He thought Mantis would love the snow.

"I have to wonder if Earth is really ready to meet the Gaurdians, but we're up to the challenge" He said.

"I can make it snow if it doesn't happen this year," he says. So if Quill wants the chilly weather, he can make it happen. "But there's no way I can freeze ice."

He knows someone who can, but Loki was doggedly insistent it wasn't possible.

"I think Earth could use a little more weirdness anyhow," he says. "The only aliens they've met that they know of are me, my brother, and Thanos'..." Thor gestures with his glass, liquid jostling around inside. "I don't know... children. And their weird alien-pet-beast-things."

"Well I'm glad I didn't meet any of them." He said. "I mean, other than Gamora and Nebula. They're cool. But they jumped ship a while back. Anyone who stayed on the crazy train were probably not fun to meet."

He drank some of his alcohol.

"You know one of the things I miss the most, though?" He continued. "This is going to sound weird but, pop rocks."

Thor's eyes narrow ever-so-slightly. "Pop rocks?"

"Yeah, yeah. It's this candy." He said, leaning forward. "It's sort of like powder. But when you put it in your mouth, they start to fizz or something and it's like having fireworks in your mouth. I was obsessed with them as a kid."

Thor's frown grows as he tries to imagine it. "Like soda?"

He tilted his head to the side and hummed.

"Sort of." He said. "But dryer. But if you open your mouth, I guess it sounds like soda popping."

His forehead scrunched as he tried to explain it.

"Probably easily if I ever found some just to show you," He said.

Thor is bought in now. If they wait around for some to appear, they might be waiting forever. Thor might be long-lived, but that doesn't mean he's patient.

"Can we make some?" Thor asks. "I'd like to try these rocks."

"Maybe." He said thoughtfully. "Who do we know that's good with chemistry... or is it baking? Both?"

Quill tried to think about the packaging. When he was young and bored he often read the labels and he remembered there being a lot of hard-to-pronounce ingredients.

"What about Pete?" He said. "Or his girl Liz?"

Thor directs a finger at Quill. "Either one of them," he agrees. "If they can figure it out, you'll need to sample it for authenticity before I try it."

Thor wants his first experience with pop rocks to be a genuine one.

"Sure. I'll make sure the product is pure before you have some." He said chuckling.

"If they can't make any, we'll find some while you're in New York," Thor insists. "And whatever strange and exotic Earth dishes you missed while you were away."

"Strange and exotic?" He repeated, amused. "You know I'm from Missouri, right?"

"I am sure Missouri has strange an exotic foods. Like your... pop rocks."

Quill stared at Thor. His eyes narrowed thoughtfully. What counts as exotic for this guy?

"Like... corn dogs, right?" He said. "Hotdogs covered in delicious batter and fried?"

"I've had one of those!" Thor says, clearly overjoyed. "They're amazing. Dry on the outside, moist on the inside. Delicious."

"I have a feeling you might like a country fair," he said with a nod. "Basically, if you can think of it, they can fry it."

Thor makes a thoughtful little noise at that.

"Cheesecake?" he asks.

"Definitely fried cheesecake." He said. "It's even usually on a stick."

Fried anything was good in Quill's opinion.

Thor nods thoughtfully at this, imagining what such a thing would taste like.

"Kale?"

Quill stared.

"You went from cheesecake to kale?" He asked incredulously. "You know, maybe? But I don't know why you'd want to have kale in the first place."

Quill followed up his statement with a "ew" face.

"I went to the first two things I thought wouldn't be deep-fried," Thor says. "I don't know how your cheesecake wouldn't dissolve immediately and I can't understand why someone would want to deep-fry kale when it's good-as is."

"I'm going to stop you right there," he said, this time pointing at Thor. "Kale is not good. It's basically weeds."
